Autumn

1.  I picked this photo over the other ones because it has good fall colours while showing contrast against the dark tree trunks. The trunks also act as leading lines.  It follows the rules of thirds giving it a strong composition.  The angle I took it at also makes it interesting for the viewer.

2. I used rule of thirds for my composition.  The focal point is the top of the tree trunks and the leaves that are lit by the sun.  I took the photo from a low angle to make the trunks act as long leading lines to the focal point.

3. What stands out the most when you first see it is the brightly coloured fall leaves that are highlighted by the sun.

4.  The viewers eye travels from the focal point down the tree trunks and across the branches throughout the rest of the photograph.

5.  If I titled this artwork it could be "Sun Dancing on Autumn Leaves in Brisk Evening Air."
