Self Portrait Reflection

1.  I picked this photograph over the other ones because it captured me the best.  Since it is a self portrait it is supposed to capture my personality as well and in this particular photo I was laughing.  It communicates that it is a reflection and the viewer can see what the reflection was taken in.  The picture also follows the rule of thirds, making it have a good composition.  It also shows movement with the curved lines.

2.  I used the rule of thirds for the composition in this picture.  The asymmetrical balance makes it more of an informal composition which adds more interest in my opinion.  I composed it so the curved line was dominant to make the photo more dynamic.

3.  I stand out the most when you first see the photo since my face is on the focal point and the rest of the image is simple.

4.  The curved line that is achieved from the distortion in the kettle is what leads the eye around.  It starts and the focal point and then is lead down my hair and its shadow then to the line of the kettle and around the rest of the photo.

5. If I gave this artwork a title it would be "Courtney" because it is a self portrait.
